80's fashion ; never dead .

"dweeb", "bogus", "bodacious" .. some of the cool lingo used back in the 1980's. However, slang wasn't the only thing spreading fast. Fashion was it and was very important to almost everyone growing up in the 80's.

The 1980's was a decade in which everybody tried to make a statement about their own individuality. It was the time for flashy bling. Everyone screamed for attention ! Young boys and girls tried their best to imitate their favorite idols, from Madonna to Michael Jackson.

Men let their hair grow long and would actually wear some makeup, like eye liner and lipstick. Women would cut their hair and rocked crimpled hair, along with many layers of clothing. Women went the extreme when it came to their shoes ; they'd do anything to look good. They would walk in loud red or pink high-heeled stilettos or see-through flat sandals. They scored high on looks, but low on comfort since they were made of plastic.

D A N C E W E A R .

Dancewear on the dance floor? NO WAY ! well yes way .. but let me explain. Dancewear was not only for dance class, but it was also a fashion statement. There were the people who put themselves through pain with stilettos, but there were others, who went for the more comfortable look.

For women, the 80's was one word: Madonna. All girls/women and I mean all idolized her. She was the 1980's Britney Spears in a way. At the time, she was everywhere in the media and the way she dressed, would be mocked for years to come.

However, Madonna wasn't the only celebrity that made a name for herself through her fashion. Male rappers and singers wore baggy jump suits, large amounts of jewelery and ended the outfit with a fresh pair of Adidas.

THE 80's ARE BACK?

80's fashion doesn't seem like it's going away anytime soon. Now-a-days, boys and girls are bringing back the style that started nearly 28 years ago. Girls are wearing mini skirts, leg warmers and are doing some crazy things with their hair ; just like the 80's. Boys are wearing extremely baggy clothes, Adidas are still in style and unless you live under a rock, you can see that big jewelery is still it. Fashion designers are taking ideas from the 80's and using them in modern fashion.

Friends .

SHEMY--This is DEF. my bestest friend in the whole wide world! sisters? yess . Our friendship is like no other. We talk about nothing, but at the same time we talk about everything. We're cool cats! Some could say we're inseparable . We weren't the best of friends at first, but once we started talking .. there was no stopping us! It's crazy how much we have in common; from our fashion sense to the type of music we like. We do mostly everything together and we stay on the phone for all hours of the day. We have so many memories ; from our summer days together to morning bus rides. We laugh at everything and when i say everything i mean everything . If someone were to sit down and listen to one of our conversations, they'd be completely lost. Our friendship is going to last a verrrrrrrry long time ; it's just unique__<3

RACHEEZ--hmm .. what to say about Rachel? She's MY loser! but seriously she's become my best friend in less than 2 years. Our conversations are absolutely pointless, but that's what makes our friendship so funny. But we've had our serious conversations too ; we're not complete l o s e r s. She's the friend that i can truly count on; she's always there for me! lol especially during lunch when i'm starving :) People say we look like sisters and i think NOT, but at heart you could say we truly are sisters. We're different, but yet we're the same__<3

The Good Times .

UNO's Chicago Grill . It's the best restaurant out there .. well at least in our opinion. Their ice tea is like no other :) It has NO sugar what so ever, but something about it has us running back for more. Our obsession for UNO's started over the summer of 2007 and it's not going anywhere. Did i mention how much the waiters love us? Well they do .. it's like we're celebrities in that place. We had good times there from boys following us to hair in food! And i know what your thinking .. "eww gross hair in food?" . Well it got us free desert so i'm not complaining .

Olivia, Sybil and I take the train every single day. Even when the weather is crappy, we're still forced into taking the train home. But it's not as bad as it may seem, we actually have fun taking the train. It seems like every time we take the train .. something hilarious happens! There was this one time when Sybil was SO excited to go home that she ran after a train. The trains doors were about to close and Sybil decided to try and squeeze through them. Bad Choice . The doors pretty much attacked her and kept opening and trying to shut on her! It was one of our funniest train rides. After a long day at school, we all look forward to the train ride home because it's where we discuss all the things that happened during school and it's where the funniest things happen.

I am absomulutely in love with a Tappahannock, Virginia cutie named Chris Brown. He is just amazing! Just like me he is a triple threat; singer/dancer/actor. He came into the music business at the young age of 16 and has been a superstar ever since. His voice is unique and it makes me shiver. He's not like all the other celebrities; he doesn't let the money and fame get to his head!


And i know what your thinking, "Oh she's such a groupie!". But i'm far from it .. I wouldn't consider myself a groupie because I am a fan. I buy albums, posters, magazines just like every other girl that likes Chris Brown. Just because i have a different way of showing my love for him, that doesn't make me a stalker. NO WAY !


--I can just remember. It was the summer of 2005 and I was watching tv. All of a sudden, a new song came on and it had a very catchy beat. The video started and the camera slowly moved from the boy's sneakers, to his pants .. then finally to his face! Was this love? Oh yes.

To the left, you can see a picture of the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston, MA. Well on January 26th, 2008, my husband will be performing alongside Bow Wow, Soulja Boy and others for his Up Close and Personal Tour. Do you see where the 2 is? Well yea, that's where Shemadah, Rachel and I plan on sitting. First row baby! I can't wait, it's going to be my first Chris Brown concert (shocker!). I'm SO0 EXCiTED ! :)
